GRADE SPECIFICATIONS

New Zealand Moss

(FOR SELECTING MOSS PRIOR TO PACKING)

SUPER or 4A Sphagnum Cristatum

Length, more than 70% of moss fibres greater than 200mm in length.

Colour, 60% predominantly green and white. 40% light brown.

Less than 1% botanical impurities.

3A Sphagnum Cristatum

Length, more than 70% of moss fibres greater than 150mm in length.

Colour, 60% predominantly green and white. 40% light brown.

Less than 1% botanical impurities.

2A Sphagnum Cristatum.

Length, more than 70% of moss fibres between 100mm - 150mm in length.

Colour, 60% light brown

Density, distance between leaves less than

1cm - 1.5cm

Less than 1% botanical impurities.

Mixed or A+ Grade

Colour adjusted to suit client,

Less than 1% botanical impurities.

Please Note.

All moss measurements quoted are made prior to packing.

It is important when unpacking to cut the bag away from the moss and then soak all the moss in a water bath. Only separate the fibres once the moss has been thoroughly wet.

PACKAGING INFORMATION

STANDARD PACKAGING FOR :-

A) Commercial Packs

i) 30 kilo bales Synthetic packs, 48 per 20 foot container

Total net weight 1440 kilos. 40 foot 96 bales, 2,880 kg.

ii) 25 kilo bales Synthetic packs, 48 per 20 foot container

Total net weight 1200 kilos. 40 foot 96 bales, 2,400 kg.

iii) 3 kilo plain or printed poly bags, 490 bags per 20 foot container. Total net weight 1,470 kilos.

40 foot 980 packs or 2,940 kg.

B) Retail Packs

i) 1 kilo printed poly bags, approx 1200 per 20 foot container, 3 or 4 per outer plastic poly bag. Total net weight approx 1,200 kilos. 40 foot 2400 packs, 2,400 kg.

ii) 500 gram printed poly bags 12 per carton, 200 outers per 20 foot container, 2,400 bags. Total net weight 1,200 kilos.

40 foot 400 cartons x 12 = 4,800 packs, 2,400 kg.

iii) 150 gram printed poly bags, 7,520 per 20 foot container, packed 20 per outer carton, 376 cartons. Total net weight 1,128 kilos.

40 foot 782 cartons x 20 = 15,640 bags, 2,346 kg.

The above are standard packsizes and other packsizes can be packed by arrangement.
